The Orange Art Center is offering a variety of classes in 2014. Popular returning fine art courses include The Dynamics of Drawing, Portrait Painting & Drawing, Life Drawing & Painting, Oil Painting & Chalk Pastel, Studio Painting, and Water Based Techniques (Watercolor & Acrylic). Fine craft classes include Pottery and Fine Jewelry Making.
Pottery continues to be in high demand with OAC students, thanks in large part to our talented and vibrant faculty who teach these classes. Claire Raack and Billy Ritter inspire their students, making each class a fun and fulfilling experience, both through hand-building and wheel throwing practices.
Other classes this Winter are being taught by returning veteran faculty members like Debra Rosen, with her Fine Jewelry Making classes, and a variety of drawing and painting classes taught by John W. Carlson, Susan Graham, Lou Grasso, George Kozmon, Dino Massaroni, A.D. Peters, and Bob Raack.
For those who want a more intensive learning experience, or who cannot commit to a longer-term weekly class, there is also a one- and two-day Fine Art and Craft workshops throughout the year taught by some of the same instructors.
Kids’ classes this winter will include drawing and painting for grades K-2nd, 3rd-5th or 5th-7th. Pottery is also being offered for grades K-2nd or 3rd-5th, and a pottery wheel class for grades 5th-7th (space limited to 7 for the Wheel class). In addition, there also have a Saturday afternoon pottery class for ages 6-11.
